Web Gang:
There are some great ideas about quick launching, and I intend to use
some of them. I would suggest that the best thing I've come up with is
learning how to enjoy setting my boat up and enjoying putting everything
away. Setting up and putting away are part of my enjoyable P-15 sailing
experience. I love to B.S. with the people, accept all of the help that's
offered, and take full advantage of all audiences to tell my self proclaimed
interesting stories, both sea and other topical subjects. (Good audiences
are getting more difficult to find the older I get.)
I leave all lines and the sail rigged on the boom and stored in the
cockpit. While on the trailer I install the mainsail slugs and hank on the
jib. When I'm on the water I am rigged to hoist both the mainsail and the
jib from the cockpit. I've got a line rigged to my rudder to both pull it up
or down.
There are times I would like to trade for a P-19, when I read all of the
launching difficulties, I wouldn't trade my P-15 for anything.
<< Lately, though, I have been using going sailing as a good way to slow down
and get into a joyous meditative state. All too often I would find myself
rushing, rushing to leave the house, drive to the launch, set up, launch,
etc... and it didn't feel very good.

So for me the whole point of going sailing is about slowing down....:)
