I can add to that. I've not used my winches either, at least not as they
were intended to be used. I don't know what I'm going to do with them
yet, as I've not had any problems with the halyards to the point of
needing a winch for them. Maybe they're there for flying gennys in not
exactly light wind? I know they'll be good if I ever have to kedge off
or some such, though.
