For all you newer Potter owners, Judy had recommended products from
Aurora Marine for me to use to wash and wax our Potter. I sent a note
to Aurora asking them which products to use where. I also wanted to
know how to clean and protect the plastic around the windows, etc. The
following is their reply:

Use Sure Step on the non skid areas only. Use Boat Shine on the smooth
parts
of your deck and cabin and on your topsides (hull from the waterline to
the
gunwale). Use Bottom Wax below the waterline on everything except the
prop
since it is so slippery that it will cause your prop to slip.

Each polish has its own unique features: Boat Shine has excellent UV
inhibitors and will give you a high gloss shine that is very durable and

easy to clean. Sure Step has non slip properties and will seal the pores
in
your non skid areas and Bottom Wax is made especially for continuous
immersion. It has no UV inhibitors so it won't protect your topsides as
well, but it will seal the bottom against water immersion and give you
protection against fouling as well as better performance.

Clean all perts of your boat with 1 part Boat Clean mixed with 4 parts
water, followed by a deep cleaning with Boat Scrub and a damp sponge. If
you
have any remaining stains or scuff marks etc. that did not come off, use
Boat
Scrub on a dry cloth and rub the stain or scuff mark away. Rinse the
entire
boat with water and let it dry before applying the polishes. Apply 2
coats
of each polish, following the directions on the bottle.

Clean the white plastic with Boat Clean. If its chalky or stained, use a

50/50 solution of Boat Clean and Boat Scrub with a damp sponge. Polish
it
with Boat Shine.

They also have a product called clear view for cleaning and protecting
the plastic windows.
Boater's World carries their products. Their website is:
http://auroramarine.com
They also have a Spring Commissioning check list that can be downloaded
from their site.

Hope some of you find this useful.

Peaceful Pottering,

Karen Johnson
