I have a Montgomery 17 built in 1985. The hull is green and faded. While
at the Oakland boat show I ran across some stuff called Metal Clean which
can be used on fiberglass and metal. If I remember right it cost $18 for a
32 oz. can. This stuff really works. It goes on like a paste and you wipe
it off with paper towels. It restored my hull color to original. You must
put a wax coat on afterwards to hold the color, but it is well worth it. I
don't own any stock in the company. The number to order this stuff is
1-800-714-6063. On the can I have it says "Original Mr Douglas Formula".
