Dear Web Gang:
It seems to me that slugs would not make any difference in the length of the
sail on the boom. The mainsail is attached to the gooseneck at the tack of
the sail by the grommet. The distance from the grommet attached to the
gooseneck is going to be the same distance to the end of the boom regardless
of whether you have slugs or not. A ten year old boat might well have a
stretched sail, but I don't see how the slugs could be the cause of the
problem.
Is there something I'm not considering?
