I'm interested in knowing in what initially led Potter owners to
purchase their boats...new or used.
>>>

Bought NEW!

I bought new because after 18 mos. of searcing I never did find a clean used
sailboat. Closest I came to an acceptable one was a Compaq 19. But, they had
spilled dirty potty in cabin, about a year before and It stunk to high
heaven... Owner wanted $10,000.00 ????????? That experience stopped my search
for a used boat and turn me on to a new one. I like clean boats with no smell
other than fiberglass...

It was the only small sailboat that had a cabin large enough for two comfy and
four tight, a light and small easy to lower mast, had a high bow to keep water
away, a large happy customer following, light trailerable weight and would fit
my 20' motorboat trailer so I would not have to buy another trailer... After
asking the NET I found the company stood by their product and... the
warranty was real not "virtual". So far I am pleased with the company and
it's warranty service. It is excellent! I am also relatively happy with the
vessel and my wife loves it.

I love P19 but I hate daggerboard, dgrbrd trunk (well) and cables... Maybe
when I get tired of dragging it everywhere around country I will buy a fixed
wing keel from a Capri 18 and do away with daggerboard, trunk and wiring...
For now we put up with it because it is the feature that makes it trailerable
and shallow water able. No other small cabin sailboat seems able to do that...

I wish they moved that mast support to sides like Capri 18. That would add
immensely to the enjoyment and maybe make playing aboard more pleasant... It
is definitely in the way. It makes that bow berth uncomfortable. I like
sleeping with my wife next to me.

I am amazed at how they have not polled their clients (Potter owner's) on
qualities they like and what they would like changed. I know they would get a
lot of wishfull thinking and a few impractical ones. But, it sure would go a
long way to improving the product. Maybe they have in the past...

Perhaps you can fwd these replies to IM. I only remember half larry harts e-
mail address (lhart@ etc...). I forgot Scott's...
