I presently have both the Potter 15' and the Capri 16'. The Capri 16 is
faster and more close winded, but that is not the end of the story.
While they sound similar in length, they are not in the same class. The
Potter 15' has a displacement of around 500+- lbs, while the Capri 16 is
1350+- lbs. That weight and the fixed keel make the Capri a real bear
to trailer. It is probably more comparable to the Potter 19 because
their displacements are similar. The Capri is great day sailor with its
large cockpit and tiny cabin, but the Potter 19 would be a better
cruiser with its large cabin. The Potter 15 is great trailer sailor and
gunkholer. So which is better for you depends on your needs and sailing
grounds.
