Jerry, et al,

If you have the retracting, or mechanical lifting, motor mount, you could use
the long shaft, but there's no need to. The mount will set a short shaft
prop as deep in the water as you need. Even in the heaviest chop, the mount
can lower a short shaft deep enough to prevent cavitating..
