http://www.winternet.com/~eric/pics/controller.jpg shows the installation
of my solar panel charge controller - in the upper right corner you can also
see a 12v plug next to the switch panel. I only have the one 12v plug at
the moment, but I'll probably add a second one to port in the same relative
location.

I have a rechargable searchlight, which reduces the need 12v power in the
cockpit.

Sometimes the simplest solutions... I use a mini-mag flashlight with a red
lense cover. I hold it in my teeth so I have both hands free for chart work.
