whoa wait a sec. how big is your cockpit? I'm not sure even the CABIN would
hold that much. I figure a P19 cockpit could hold no more than about 32 cubic
feet, and thats up to the coamings. But I'm guessing at some of the dimensions.

I would guess there would be a point where the cockpit is so full you could
heel the boat to dump a bunch out.

On a practical note (better late than never in this thread) I recently replaced
the 5/8 drain on my P19 with a 1.5" drain, and i think its going to work out
well. I'm not so worried about taking a wave inside, but just the general draining
of rainwater, etc, without plugging up from debris. I even found a perfect radiator
hose with a proper bend to accommodate the way the P19 drain is arranged, and
I'm really happy with the results. I also mounted the new cockpit drain flush
with the cockpit sole, so EVERYTHING will drain. The factory setup using a mushroom
thru-hull into the cockpit would only drain as far as the upper lip of the 'shroom
part, so dirt and stuff would sink below that and never get drained.
