Commodore Jerry's tip about the later P-15's sailing better with the board
up a little in order to rake the leading edge of the centerboard back
about 15 degrees is right on.... sure works a lot better that way for me, and
for a long time, have always raised it just a touch. If you look at yacht
design profiles virtually every plan you ever see has the keel or centerboard
leading edge raked back slightly. Interesting to find out that the
original Herb Stuart design was set up to make sure the board couldn't
be dropped down to the vertical! Great to hear from Gwen and
Mahendra Singh here on the Potter Web.. They have been in the
Potter Club a long time!
