I have a 30lb thrust minn-Kota electric, but batteries are such a
pain--heavy, and they wear down so quickly it seems--short range, plus
expensive to replace every couple of years... I have thought about putting
my 1500w portable generator aboard the dinghy to power my electric motor
and/or recharge the battery at the same time.... interesting thought eh?
Kind of reminds me of that new electric/gas hybrid Honda Car that gets
61/70 mpg!
